a peaceful place

Your Hosts

Rhodena and Brian Bell

Rhodena's family has owned this property for over 200 years. The original Purdon family homestead just across the road offers various trails and is home to the wedding venue area. There are almost 500 acres in total to roam.

Rhodena's father, Joe Purdon built the cottages in the early 1900s as well as many other cottages on Patterson Lake. Joe was well-known for his work in cultivating the Pink Lady Slippers seen still today, blooming during June and July at the Purdon Conservation Area, just a short drive down the road. Joe was also well know for his boat building, and maple syrup production. Joe's maple syrup tradition on the property is still carried on today by the Rhodena, Brian and the Bell family.
